Settlement Services at VIRCS Seeks Volunteer Translators and Interpreters
Immigrant Settlement Services are for immigrants and refugees who live in the Greater Victoria area.
Our settlement workers provide assessment, orientation, information, referrals, adjustment support, and service linking and bridging including accompaniment.
We are currently seeking volunteers who speak, read, and write english and a second language to translate and interpret for new immigrants and refugees. If you have a second language (or more) and have an interest in helping out we would love to hear from you.
We are also seeking volunteers to child mind for 2 hours during Settlement workshops, which take place throughout each month, usually in the afternoon.
Settlement offers a variety of workshops for new immigrants and refugees and if you have interest and experience in facilitation, or a skill, knowledge base or passion for something you imagine could be useful for our clients, we would like to hear more about your ideas.
